Year 3 visit to University of Cumbria
On Thursday afternoon (6th June), Year 3 enjoyed an exciting visit to the University of Cumbria to take part in a ‘Flood Awareness’ session.
This special, one-off event was organised by Chris Barlow, Senior Lecturer at the University of Cumbria, along with the Lune Valley Flood Forum, and aimed to raise children’s awareness of the role of a variety of services involved in flooding issues in the Lune Valley.
The children experienced a simulated river flood, a simulated river rescue and learnt about quick sand danger and beach safety.
What a fantastic experience!
